Dr. Mohamed Bidair
After graduating from Harvard University with a degree in computer engineering, Dr. Bidair attended medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He went on to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) for his surgical internship and urology residency where he remained as Assistant Professor of Urology at UCSD for three years.
During that time, Dr. Bidair was involved in many research projects, publications and presentations in addition to his clinical interests in stone disease, urologic oncology and laparoscopic surgery. He currently has over 100 published articles, abstracts and presentations.
By 1995, Dr. Bidair became Chief of the Urology Section at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in La Jolla, California.
He entered private practice in January 1997, as a partner at Alvarado/La Mesa Urology Center. There he became the Research Division Director of his practice. By December 2001, in addition to his full-time practice in urology, Dr. Bidair acquired the role of Medical Director San Diego Clinical Trials.
Dr. Bidair is an active medical staff member in 4 hospitals in the San Diego area. He attained multiple leadership positions in the medical community including President of The San Diego Urological Society and Chief of Staff at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Bidair has been performing circumcisions and circumcision revisions since 1988. He has performed thousands of these procedures using multiple different techniques.
Dr. Bidair is board certified by the American Board of Urology since 1996 with recertifications in 2006 and 2016.
Dr. Bidair is fluent in English, French, Arabic and Spanish.
Dr. Eileen Byrne
Dr. Eileen Rebecca Byrne is a fellowship-trained urologist specializing in Men’s Sexual Health and Infertility. Her focus is to help restore sexual function, urinary function, and fertility for men. Sexual dysfunction and urinary issues are common and may develop as a result of cancer treatments, aging, or other health conditions, and Dr. Byrne is passionate about developing a partnership with her patients to help improve their quality of life.
Dr. Byrne completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and went on to pursue a residency in Urology at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). She completed her Men's Sexual Health Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Dr. Byrne holds membership in the American Urologic Association (AUA), the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH).
Dr. Byrne has conducted research on a variety of topics but more recently has focused her research on urologic reconstruction and sexual health. She is a co-author of the 13th edition of Campbell’s Urology Chapter 67 on The Surgical Management of Male Infertility. She has also contributed to multiple videos for developing new surgical techniques for urethral reconstruction and fertility. Previously she contributed to research in the areas of recurrent urinary tract infections, multiple myeloma, and cardiac development.
Although she grew up in Florida, she became part of the San Diego community while completing her residency training. When she is not working, Dr. Byrne enjoys spending time with her husband and her dog.
Sati Melkonyan, PA
Sati Melkonyan is a Board Certified Physician Assistant. She is trilingual in English, Russian, and Armenian. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology with honors in 2017. She continued her studies and received a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Dominican University of California in 2020.
She has been working as an Urology Physician Assistant since 2021. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family.
